IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Ann
Tedder
November 3, 1942 – April 15, 2025
Linda Ann Tedder, 82, of Little Rock, Arkansas was born to the late Edward Willis McClelland and Elva Beatrice (Beard) Hooks, on Tuesday, November 3rd, 1942, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She made her move to heaven, on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025. She left this world a much loved woman, surrounded by family and friends. To know Linda was to absolutely love Linda. It was almost impossible not to love her the moment you met her. She lit up every room she walked into. She was such a vibrant, humble, gracious, faithful, and compassionate woman who exhibited and lived a sacrificial love for those in her life. Linda found joy, pure joy, helping those in need, whether it was for animals or her family and friends. Linda's life story truly lived out what Jesus said were the two greatest commandments, "You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, and with all your soul, and with all of your mind." and "You shall love your neighbor as yourself". Linda lived her life with the right priorities, and the most important things to Linda were the Lord, her family, serving others, and her pets.
Linda was also very funny, witty, and intelligent, which is why Bill probably fell in love with her on their first blind date! She loved to have fun and a good laugh. She could be a little spunky sometimes, but was a sweetheart at all times. Linda and Bill created a beautiful life together. They got married and had two children who brought them so much joy.
Linda enjoyed many things in life, especially the holidays. It was basically her due diligence to create the magic for her family that each holiday and special event had to offer. One of her most favorite things to do was to sing Gospel hymns, 50's music, and anything she could clap or tap her foot along with. You could always hear her humming and singing throughout the day. Her life career was spent as a Real Estate Office Manager where she took much pride in and found much reward in her work. She truly loved working with and supporting all of the agents. Linda loved teaching children in Sunday school, and was faithful to her church family, Heritage Baptist Church, for 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elva Beatrice Hooks and Edward Willis McClelland; stepfather, Ben Hooks; stepbrothers, Bobby and Glenn Hooks; and all of those much loved animals she rescued.
Left to cherish her memories and legacy are her beloved husband of 64 years, William "Bill" Tedder; two children, Mark Tedder and his wife, Heidi, and Deborah Tedder; one step-granddaughter, Tessa "Clover" Wagner; along with other family and friends who all love her and will miss her dearly.
Linda fought the good fight and finished her race. During the last ten years of Linda's life, she battled Alzheimer's. She remained joyful and full of vigor, yet her mind and body were slowly saying goodbye to this world. She continued to light up the room and bring everyone much joy, even during her darkest days. Linda remained semi-mobile until the last five days of her life in which she went into a deep sleep. God kept her in peace as she was slowly saying goodbye. The day before her final days began, she was trying to communicate with the family but was speaking incoherently, and then she said with all clarity and confidence, "I am going home. I am going home". Indeed, the Holy Spirit was communicating with her. We celebrate her life on earth and her new life in her eternal reward. As family, we know she has heard, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant…enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." We know this is not a final goodbye; we will see her and live with her again in perfected, heavenly glory. She will be dearly missed, yet we focus our thoughts on her new found wholeness and joy in her heavenly residence.
The family wants to recognize and thank the wonderful caregivers who loved and helped take care of Linda during the last 3 years of her advanced stage of Alzheimer's. Her life was made better thanks to their love and support. They helped Linda's family keep her safely at home with a quality life all the way until the end. Linda left this world in peace, surrounded by love. She freely gave love, time, and service away all of her life, and she reaped it all back in droves.
Her celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. with her visitation at 1:00 P.M. at Heritage Baptist Church: 4910 Stagecoach Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
She will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Memorial Park following her services.
For floral arrangements, please deliver to the funeral home by 3:30 P.M. on Monday, April 21st, 2025. Thereafter, please send floral arrangements directly to the church.
On behalf of Dial and Dudley Funeral Home, we are honored to be entrusted to take part in Linda's final moments and to care for her family as we care for our own.
