Lonnie Ray Mitchell 76 of Benton, passed away on January 16, 2018 with his family by his side.  He was born on June 2, 1941 to the late, Louie and Myrtle Mitchell in Hardy, Arkansas.  Lonnie enjoyed going camping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Lonnie and his wife, Tressie, have a love for children; throughout their marriage they have fostered over 72 children in Foster Care.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters and one brother.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Tressie Mitchell; son, Mark Alan Mitchell (Denise); daughter, Patricia Kennedy; five beloved grandchildren, Alaina, Justin, Aaron, Trey and Pamela; three great grandchildren, Sophia, Cannon and Brantley; three brothers, Jack, Paul and Dwight Mitchell and a host of family and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home.
