Lonnie Leon Wise, 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, completed his earthly journey on January 10, 2025, passing peacefully at his home in Alexander, Arkansas, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 2, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Lonnie lived a life that touched countless hearts and built not just homes, but legacies.

As a young man, Lonnie answered the call to serve his country, proudly wearing the uniform of the United States Army from 1964 to 1968. After returning home, he found his true calling in the craft of roofing and carpentry, where his skilled hands and honest work ethic helped shelter families across Arkansas for nearly 50 years. At 40, with determination in his heart and faith in his abilities, Lonnie pioneered the first Weather Guard Roofing company in Arkansas, turning his dream into a reality that would support his family and community for years to come.

But those who knew Lonnie best would tell you that his real masterpiece wasn't built with hammers and nails - it was the family he cherished and the faith he lived by. His devotion to God guided every step of his journey, and his love for his family was the foundation of his life. Whether sharing wisdom with his children, celebrating the achievements of his grandchildren, or simply gathering his loved ones around him, Lonnie's greatest joy was found in these precious moments.

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy in his loving wife, Carolyn Wise, who walked faithfully by his side for 60 beautiful years; his children, Pamela Cole (Eric), Jeannie Wise, Susan Thornburgh (Tim), and Kevin Wise (Courtney), who carry forward his values and strength; 13 grandchildren who brought light to his eyes; 38 great-grandchildren who filled his later years with joy; and 2 great-great-grandchildren who represented the continuing blessing of family he so treasured. He was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers, and a beloved granddaughter, reunited now in heaven's embrace, while his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Lonnie's life at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant, Arkansas on Monday, January 20th, 2025 at 1 P.M.
