Marion Sallis Thalmueller of Benton passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Salem United Methodist Church in Benton on Friday, December 11 at 2 PM.
She was the daughter of Aubrey and Vera Sallis of Marianna Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Dudley and Aubrey Jerome Sallis.
She was born on November 29, 1931 at Rondo Arkansas and later graduated from T. A. Futrall High School in Marianna, AR. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. She was a member of Saint Andrews Methodist Church in Little Rock for 33 years and joined the Salem Methodist Church when she and her husband Leonard moved to Benton. She was a member of the Companions in Christ Sunday school class where she enjoyed the fellowship of her friends. She was a past member of the Little Rock Women's City Club, the Meadowrose Garden Club, and other philanthropic organizations. She was a former manager for the Little Rock Housing Authority and for the
Academy of Physicians. She enjoyed flower arranging, reading, sewing, traveling, and doll making.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Leonard Thalmueller; one sister, Margie Sallis of Marianna; her daughter, Karla Thalmueller Driskell and her husband John of Houston; one granddaughter, Ashlee Marion Driskell Juarez and her husband Daniel; great-granddaughter, Aida Lee of Houston. She is also survived by four step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren; five wonderful nieces in Kansas and two in Arkansas; special friends, Gayla Arendt, Deloria Oyler, Annie Ferguson, Joan Norton, and God child Natasha Arendt.
