IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marjean Lanell
Berry
May 11, 1941 – June 5, 2023
On June 5th, 2023, Marjean Lanell Berry, passed away peacefully at age 82; while doing one of the things that brought her so much joy, watching the birds from her window. Marjean was the biological mother of three children. However, she had many that she shared a mother's love for. One of which was her son-in-law; that she loved as her own. Marjean was born May 11, 1941, in Blevins, Arkansas. She grew up in Texarkana, Arkansas where she met her husband and true love, Elbert "Lester" Berry. They raised their family there. Until they later moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1985 and lived there until her beloved Lester passed away in 2001. Marjean then moved to Benton, Arkansas to be closer to family and friends where she lived, until moving to Twin Rivers in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Where she was loved by and loved everyone. She found an extended family among many of the staff and residents of Twin Rivers. Marjean was an exceptional wife, mother, and friend. She cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help. She was always helping others care for loved ones, or any way that they needed help. She always ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy.
Marjean is survived by her daughter, Laura Nicks and "son" in law, William "Joey" Nicks of Malvern, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Crystal Brown of Hope, Arkansas, Brandon Berry (Skylar Whisnant) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Amber Nicks of Bismarck, Arkansas, and Maggie Nicks (Bryan Taylor) of Point Cedar, Arkansas; and three amazing great grandsons and two beautiful great granddaughters; and her sister of heart, Brenda Miles of Benton, Arkansas; and many other family; surrogate family members and friends.
She is predeceased by her husband, Elbert "Lester"; her daughter, Carolyn Ford; her son, Billy Wayne Ford; her parents, William and Geraldine Landers; and her brother, Sonny Landers.
Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 at 12:30 P.M. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Miles and Chris Bennings.
Her family will be at their home @ 30934 Highway 67; Malvern, Arkansas 72104; after the memorial service for anyone that would like to visit.
