Mary Annette Gauntt, of Bryant, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2024. She was 99 years old, and just 51 days short of celebrating her 100th birthday.

Mary was born in Crossett, Arkansas on October 29, 1924 to the late George Carlton and Mattie White. She was the only girl among four brothers. Mary grew up to be a strong, tough young woman, which helped prepare her for many obstacles in her life, which included the Great Depression and World War II.

She was a skilled seamstress, and an avid gardener. Mary was known to stop on country roads just to gather wildflowers for her garden.  She was known to make up witty little poems at the drop of a hat. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother. She always wanted all her grandchildren around as much as possible. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George Carlton, and Mattie White; husband, A.L. Gauntt; daughter, Sandra Smith; brothers, Buddy, James, Burt, and  Archie White;

Mary is survived by her son, George Gauntt (Danna); daughter, Nancy White (Toby); son in law, Jeff Smith; grandchildren, Angela Jackson, Chris Smith, Courtney White Milton, and Lauren White Dunwoody; great grandchildren, Sydney Powery, Stone Jackson, Mallory Milton, Ashley Wiles, Kaityln Smith, McComb Dunwoody III, and Justin; great great grandchildren, Sage, Shiloh, Soleil, Senna Powery, Carrington ,and Ava Wiles.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 3:00 P. M. at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
