Mary Alma Pever Johnson 87 of Bauxite went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2012. She was born on July 18, 1924 to the late, Hiram and Jessie Pever in Athens, Alabama. Mary enjoyed doing her word search puzzles, traveling, bird watching and african violets. She retired after years of dedication from teaching developmental disabled adults in Athens, Alabama. Her most precious memories were times spent with her family.
Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband, O. B. Johnson; two sisters; one brother and one granddaughter, Lori Johnson.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna VanDevender (Karl); two sons, James Johnson (Diane) and Earl Johnson (Carolyn); seven grandchildren, Kevin Johnson (Heather), Keith Johnson (Ebony), David Johnson (Jennifer), Daniel Johnson, Michael Johnson (Rachel), Cooper VanDevender (Angie) and Tanner VanDevender; eight great grandchildren, Tessa, Zachary, Madeline, Isaac, Elijah, Abigail, Mallory and Autumn and a host of family and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly.
