Mary Ann Burris Rutherford, 87 of Bryant, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born to the late, George W. and Louise Herrington Burris on Thursday, February 19, 1931 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She had lived for the past year at Chambers Nursing and Rehab in Carlisle. She was a homemaker while her children were young. She always made sure they were at church when the doors were open. She taught Sunday school, VBS, Girls Auxiliary, and served on many youth and ladies groups. She loved to have people in her home and made everyone feel welcomed. Her last active years were spent at First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant. She spent many years as a Branch Manager of Capital Saving and Loan in Little Rock.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Horace H. Rutherford; daughter, Jacqueline Dianne Pittman; sister, Jean Lensing.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Atkins (Ricky); son-in-law, Raymond Pittman; five grandchildren, Angela Douglas (Shawn), Tiffany Schafer (Joe Paul), Crystal Ingle, Brian Pittman, and Brittany Burns (Mark); thirteen great grandchildren, Kyle Douglas (Caitlin), Mikayla Douglas, Alexx DeVinney, Carson DeVinney, Chloe Ingle, Jaxson Ingle, Ryder Ingle, Bryley McClellan, Lauren Burns, Braxton Burns, Layton Burns, Lynley Burns, and Easton Pittman; one great-great grandchild, Cora Douglas; a sister, Wanda Cooksey; a brother, Bill Burris; sister-in-law, Marion Hillman; along with many nieces, nephews, and host of others who called her "Mamaw."
A celebration of life will be held at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 11:00AM with the visitation one hour prior to the service. The burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
She will be carried to her resting place by her oldest grandsons.
