Mattie Lynn (Cox) Burns, 60, passed away on May 6, 2019 in Texarkana, Texas. She was born on July 19, 1958 in Lewisville, Arkansas to the late John L Cox and Syble Peterson Cox. She graduated from Lewisville High School in 1976. She was in the poultry industry at Pilgrim's Pride as a Broiler Producer until retiring in 2003.

Mattie was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Cox and sister, Linda Toland.

She is survived by her sons, Matthew Burns and his wife, Amanda and John C Burns; brother, John Wayne Cox and his wife, Donnia; grandchildren, Brianna Burns, Gavin Burns, Faith Burns, Levi Burns, Laikyn Burns, and Layla Burns; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mattie enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. She will be missed greatly. Friends and family members may attend the memorial service, officiated by Brother Kenneth Bobo, on Saturday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 687 Hwy 29, Lewisville.
