Obituary

Mildred (Mil) Hampton, was born October 23, 1941 in New Orleans Louisiana and raised in Sorrnto, Louisiana to the late Sullivan and Lucinda Hampton. Mildred departed this life with her baby girl holding her hand and her family by her side as Mildred received her wings on June 4, 2014 at the Baptist Health Medical Center Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 72.
Mildred accepted Christ and was baptized August 28, 1988 At Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church in Harvey, Louisiana under the leadership of Pastor Keith Paul Stewman. Mildred later moved to Bryant Arkansas where she was a member of the First Baptist of Bryant under the leadership of Pastor Phillip Miller.
Mildred never met a stranger, and everyone she met she extended her heart and with open arms. Mildred loved to cook and sew in her spare time throughout her life.
After moving to Bryant, Arkansas she became the neighbor "granny" as much as her health allowed her to. Although she hardly got to visit her church family, she loved worshipping God.
Mildred was proud to finally get the news that her baby brother had become a grandpa to two handsome boys, Dekota and Antoine.
Mildred is preceded in death by her loving parents, grandparents, (Henry and Corinne Williams) three uncles; Samuel Charles Griffin, Samuel and Henry Williams, One aunt Pauline Pigpin. One step daughter; Tammy Alexander, one sister, Lillie Mae Mackyeon, two nieces Samantha Mackyeon and Alfreda Smith. One grandson, Derin Hampton, One daughter-in-law Larisa Hampton.
Mildred leaves to celebrate her legacy nine beautiful and courageous children, Johnny (Karen), Anita Lynn, Kenneth Wayne, Ricky, Richard, Shannon Hampton, Betty (Bruce) Washington, Bruce Hampton, Jojeanna (Gabriel) Allen. Step Children, Durel and Brian Allen. Two god children, Marsha Conrade and Thaddeus Mackyeon; one brother, Richard Hampton and her only sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Hampton; and her 101 year old Aunt Isabelle Sanford.
Forty grandchildren; Michelle (Ernest) Robinson, Tameka Hampton, Lisa Hampton Kelly, Shavona Hampton, Tanisha (Damien) Jones, Brittany Brown, Richard Jones, Shirley Jefferson, Dimitrell, DeShannon, Shanice Hampton, Frederica, Bryan Hampton, Ryan Jefferson, Laniesha, Bruce, Da'John Colle, Delitha, Brunaka, Keasha Holmes, Makiya, Brushawn, Brandon, Breonnia Hunter, Bruce, Aviante' Hampton, Briante' Hunter, Anariya, Amari, Jacqueline Douglas, Gabrielle Allen, Keshae Hampton, Xyxyance, Gabriel Jr., Byron, Alajiah, Khennedi Allen, and fifty-one great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her dog Hemi.
Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014 6:00 PM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant Arkansas. Then again on June the 14, 10:00 AM at the Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church, 817 Grefer, St. Harvey, LA. 70058, Louisiana.
Visitations will be one hour prior to both services. Arrangements provided by Dial and Dudley Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Nelson, all the nurses and staff at Baptist Health Medical Center, Little Rock, AR. And Pastor Keith Paul Stewman and our Evening Star M>B.C. Family Pastor Miller and our First Baptist Church family.
Graveside Services will be June the 17 at Collegeville Cemetery.
