IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Monica Karin
Jennings
August 19, 1969 – June 22, 2025
Monica Karin Pennington Jennings, 55, of Alexander, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, and was born on Tuesday, August 19th, 1969, in Lufkin, Texas. Monica lived a life that reflected strength, faith, and fierce love for her family.
A certified medical assistant, Monica's career was cut short in 2001 due to a seizure disorder, but her purpose never wavered. She devoted herself fully to recovery, to her faith, and to serving her family and community in new, meaningful ways.
Monica overcame addiction and became a living example of God's grace and restoration. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and active in her church community, often supporting recovery ministries and her husband's motorcycle club.
Alongside her beloved husband, Michael, Monica ran the Sno Shack in Shannon Hills, where she poured joy and love into every summer day. Whether it was a snow cone or a kind word, Monica had a way of making people feel seen and cared for.
She was the kind of grandmother every child dreams of—loving, fun, full of stories and encouragement. To her children and grandchildren, she was a safe haven and source of unwavering support.
Monica's life wasn't easy, but she lived it with strength and purpose. She chose redemption, she chose love, and she chose faith. And through those choices, she changed lives—including her own.
She leaves behind a powerful legacy of healing, love, and faith in action.
Left to cherish her powerful legacy of healing, love, and faith is her children, Jenna Jones (Tye Standridge), Jarrod Mitchell (Alyssa Mitchell), and Kayla's husband, Jodeci Nash; eight grandchildren, Camryn Nelson, Jordan Easthem, Addilee Smith, Rayna Standridge, Devynn Nash, Kyla Nash, Uriyah Banes, Olivia Mitchell; two brothers, Donald Pennington (Debbie) and Jimmy Pennington (Tammi); her mother, Jane Pennington; along with other family and friends who all love her and will miss her greatly.
She is joined in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Michael John Jennings; daughter, Kayla Mitchell-Nash; father, Ray Pennington; and grandparents, Raymond Leroy Pennington, Sr. and Joyce Kathryn (Freeman) Pennington, Virgil Alvin Perry, and Evelyn Sweet.
Monica's celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 11th, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene: 116 S. Pine Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114. Bro. Paul Holderfield, Jr. will be officiating.
