Obituary

Newt Faulkner, 68 of Arkansas City went to be with the angels on August 9th, 2010, 7:28 pm at the Arkansas Hospice Center of Little Rock due to cancer of the Lungs, brain, and stomach.
A service will be held at 2 pm Saturday August 14th at Arkansas City Baptist Church, Pastor Gene Gregory will officiate.
Newt was born June 14, 1942, in Oak Ridge, Louisiana, to Joseph Walter Faulkner and Cora Victoria Harris Faulkner. He went to school in Arkansas City. He later became a mechanic first for himself and then United Parcel Service where he retired in 2005.
He enjoyed many things throughout his life, playing softball, fishing and hunting, and of course he loved going to the casinos in his last several years. Fishing was his greatest joy he would catch fish just to give them away. He was nice to everyone he met and would help anyone who needed it even a stranger. He was a gentle, kind man and he always told the best stories.
He is survived by his wife Betty Clark Faulkner of 18 years, four brothers, two sisters, Joe Faulkner Jr, Leon Faulkner, James Faulkner, Bruce Faulkner, Shirley Moreland, and Mary Venable; 7 children, Ann Mooney, Ruth Davis, Randy Faulkner, Mike Reed, Pam Stallings, Sherry Mathews, Renee Kelley; 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Cora Faulkner, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
