Nhia Thong Lo passed away at the age of 94, on Friday, September 27, 2024, surrounded by love.

He is survived by his wife, May Lee Lo; his children, My Lo Payia, Thai Lo, Dublauj Xiong, Phong Lo, Julie Lo, Kou Lo, and Joseph Lo; his brother, Tong Ge Lo, and his sister, Suav Vang. Nhia Thong had twenty-three grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Nhia Thong was born on March 5th, 1930 in Laos. He was a Comandante in the Hmong army that was recruited by the CIA to fight the communist regime. After surviving the war, he and his family immigrated to the U.S. in the mid 70's as political refugees, escaping war and persecution in the region.

Nhia Thong and his family eventually settled in Arkansas, where they lived for 40 plus years. He worked many jobs but settled on a career as a butcher before he retired. Nhia Thong loved the outdoors as a hunter and fisherman. At home, he loved farming, raising chickens, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a fan of wrestling as well as game shows such as The Price is Right, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. While he was a man of few words, when he did speak, people would listen as he commanded the respect of those around him.

Visitation will be held on the days of November 2nd and 3rd, with a memorial on Monday, November 4th, 2024, at 10:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park at 11:00 AM.
