Obituary

Norma Ellen Myers went home to be the lord on June 19, 2011. Norma was a beloved friend, neighbor, and a retiree from the city of Little Rock, great grandmother, grandmother, and mother. She loved fishing with her daughter Debbie, cooking with her daughter Jamie, shopping at Wal-Mart with her granddaughter Sadie and great granddaughter Abby, she loved arm wrestling her grandson Billy Don, New taste sensations with granddaughter Jessica, and watching horror movies with her granddaughter Alex. Norma also loved playing cards with her friends, picking fresh fruit and vegetables, and playing aggravation with all her grandkids. She enjoyed her church friends and family at Christ Church in Alexander. And although we will miss her here on earth, we can take pleasure knowing that she walks with the lord, she feels no pain, no sorrow, and she no longer can feel the strain of this world. She gazes upon the beautiful wonders of heaven and can claim them as hers. Today we feel her loss in the world, but she has found the perfect fishing spot in heaven. Norma is survived by her daughters, Debbie Alexander and son-in-law Don Alexander of Shannon Hills, Daughter Jamie Cloos of East End, and Daughter Becky Earls and son-in-law George Earls of Sheridan, granddaughter Alexandria Lawrence and grandson-in-law James Lawrence of Pine Bluff, grandson Billy Alexander of Alexandria, LA., granddaughter Sadie Cloos of Landmark, granddaughter Jessica Smith of Bryant, and granddaughter Gabby Earls of Sheridan, great-granddaughters Abigail Cloos and Amelia Lawrence, and baby Garnett due at the end of 2011. Norma has one living brother Donald Wade and his wife Barbara of Tenn. Norma was preceded in death by father Aubrey Wade, mother Alma Wade, brothers John Wade, Robert Wade, Joe Wade and Jean Wade, sisters Gladys Sheppard, Juanita Newth, Frances Milam, Doris Maine, and Margaret Currie. The memorial celebration for Norma Myers will be held Saturday June 25, 2011 at 5:00 pm at Christ Church 11800 Vimy Ridge Rd. Alexander, Ar. The memorial will be held in the kitchen as we are having a potluck to remember her the way she wanted. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers, but asks instead of sending flowers to please make donations in Norma's name to Christ Church Youth Group or Arkansas Heart Hospital. The family would also like to remind you of one of Norma's favorite poems in this time of grief, Footprints in the Sand because we know that now the Lord has shown Norma all the times he carried her, Just as he will carry us through this time of grief and sorrow.
"The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I love you and Would never leave You! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of Footprints, it was THEN THAT I CARRIED YOU."
