Patricia Ann (Pat) Turbeville Rathfon (Also known as GaGa), 67, entered into eternal peace on July 31, 2014 at her home. Pat was born June 18, 1947, in Little Rock, AR, daughter of Joseph B. Turbeville Sr. and Annie Marcelle Tipton Turbeville. She graduated from Little Rock Central high school in 1965.
Pat was the quintessence of a little sister we loved who grew up too fast and had a family of her own. She was a very kind and gentle soul; who had a loving and generous heart, an everlasting smile, and was always giving to others. She was a single parent who loved and supported her children's dreams and was very proud of their accomplishments. She was at every ball game and all school events, always encouraging them to do their best. She taught them the value of good manners and courtesy, and that "hospitality is no small thing". Their friends were always welcome in her home and she quickly became "Mama Pat" to them. During their teen years she was 'their bridge over troubled waters'. She loved cooking for her family especially during the holidays. Her 'cracker crumb chicken' was deemed the best in the world by her grandsons. In addition to spending time with her family, Pat enjoyed fishing with her grandson, perusing flea markets, antique stores and garage sales, collecting wind chimes and hummingbird memorabilia, and watching her grandchildren play sports.
Pat was predeceased by her parents; grandson Jordan Rathfon, and her best friend, Cousin Joy Lynn Tipton Rankin.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children, daughter Tamela Dee Rathfon McNew (David McNew) and son Andrew Eugene Rathfon (Nita Rathfon), grandchildren, Matthew Bryant (Tiffany Sartin), Brandon McNew (Lani Lovell), Lauren Rathfon, Andrew, Aryssa and Hannah Rathfon; great grandchildren Braydon and Bailee Bryant, her sister Martha Jean Turbeville Sanders, adoring nieces Shannon Hamby Florence, Jennifer Sanders Christopher, and nephew Mark Hamby, of Sherwood, AR ,and a brother Joseph Bryant Turbeville Jr (Norma Turbeville) of Little Rock, AR, and a host of friends. Pat will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant with Pastor Kim Hammer officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank Saline Memorial Hospice staff, especially Micki Hull, RN, and Brother Kim Hammer along with all of the staff who made this difficult time much easier to go through.
