Paul Eugene Shaw, age 75, of Bryant, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. He was born May 30, 1939, in McCrory, Woodruff County, to Paul Moses and Gladys Thompson Shaw. Following high school, Paul served in the United States Air Force during the peacetime between the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Simple in his taste, Paul was a quiet and gentle man, slow to anger and always quick with his laughter and sense of humor. Paul is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Doris Pruitt; his grandson, Brady Smith and his wife of 51 years, Mona Ann Shaw, who herself passed away only 24 days before him. He is survived by three daughters: Carol Anne Cullum (Clay), Shelly Lankford (Keith), and Dana Shaw Bailey (Michael); five grandchildren: Amy Owen, Laura Woodall, Alex Lankford, Erinn Lankford and Logan Shaw Trudell; five great-grandchildren: Courtney Patton Probst, Drew Patton, Alexis Woodall, Hannah Owen and Olivia Owen; and four siblings: Ben Shaw, Gary Shaw, Vera Matthews and Connie Piper. There will be a celebration of life visitation at Dial & Dudley Funeral Home (4212 Hwy 5 North, Bryant, AR) on Saturday, September 13, from 10 to 11 am, immediately followed by the funeral service. Interment will at 2:30 pm in Augusta Memorial Park Cemetery, Augusta, AR. Pallbearers are Keith Lankford, Clay Cullum, Michael Bailey, Drew Patton, Alex Lankford, and Logan Shaw Trudell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org), in memory of Paul, on behalf of his great-nephew, Sam Bryant.
