With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Preston Barnes, age 30, of Mabelvale, who left us on Wednesday, February 26, 2026, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with brain cancer. A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Preston brought light and joy to all who knew him, maintaining incredible strength and grace until his final, peaceful moments surrounded by family and close friends.

Preston was born on April 18, 1995, to Chuck Barnes and Karla Sanders-Walls. A vibrant soul taken too soon, he was known for his sharp sarcasm, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for those he held close. He graduated from Bauxite High School and went on to attend the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he was a proud member of Pi Kappa Alpha. Preston later pursued a career as an electrician and served as a Superintendent for Kimbel Electric, where his leadership and strong work ethic were deeply valued.

Preston cherished spending time with family and friends. Whether playing a round of golf, attending Razorback football games, playing cards, or setting off on new adventures, he lived life fully and intentionally. His laughter, loyalty, and love created countless memories that will be treasured forever.

He is survived by his parents, Karla (Dino) Walls and Chuck (Lauren) Barnes; his grandmother, Dorothy Sanders; and his siblings, Colby (Taylor) Barnes, Courtney (Carter) Thessing, Matthew (Amber) Mott, and Colbie Walls. He also leaves behind his aunts and uncles, Billy (Shelley) Sanders, Chuck (Teresa) Sanders, and Dennis (Leslie) Barnes. Cousins Jesse (Lindsey) Sanders with children Savannah, Aiden, Beau and Ember; Katelyn (Mark) Cogburn with children Cambri, Kinsley and Carsyn; Kelton (Abby) Sanders, Cody Sanders, Tyson Barnes, and Devon Barnes and countless friends and family members who will forever miss his presence.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Carl Sanders, James Barnes, Deborah Lynum, Robert and Marcella Walls; and his cousin, Kaysen Cogburn.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kelton Sanders, Payton Russell, Brandon Sandage, Dylan Herron, Cody Lambert, Cody Allred, and Hayden Starrett.

Preston's legacy of love, laughter, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those he cherished will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 1:00 P.M at Grace Church located at 24300 US 167, Hensley, AR 72065 with visitation the night prior from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home. Preston will be laid to rest at Salem East End Cemetery.

Preston loved the Razorbacks; we would love for everyone to dress in their Razorback attire or anything red/white.
