R.C. Thompson JR 75, of Bryant, passed away on August 2, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born on December 31, 1941 to the late, Roy and Dorothy Thompson in Beckley, West Virginia. R.C. graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and continued to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Marshall University. He proudly served in the United States Navy and Army National Guard. He was a faithful member of 1st Southern Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and was a member of Gideons International. His passion in life was his family and spreading the Word of God to others.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
R.C. is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Gloria Thompson; one daughter, Yasmin "Crystal" Qadeib (Abdulrahman "Doc"); four grandchildren, Dayton, Serenity, Devin and Colton; two sisters, Dixie Thompson and Delma Lora (Art) and a host of family and friend who all loved him and will miss him dearly.
Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant followed by graveside rights at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will be Monday, August 7, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Gideons International.
