Reinhard "Ray" Schumann, 74, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. He was born on November 30, 1947, in Erlangen, Germany. Throughout his life, he enjoyed building and making things. He made a Gyro-copter, a Kit Car, gun stocks and many other impressive things. He worked at Excel Tool and Dye for several years. He devised the plans to make a 22 rifle into a fully automatic firing gun. He let John Norrell apply for the patent upon the completion of testing to perfection. He could make anything or solve any situation. Ray loved spending time with his family and friends, he was full of life and made life full and happy for his loved ones. He put a swimming pool in for his kids to enjoy and enjoyed having parties for his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Regina Dyer Schumann; father, Arno Gerhard Schumann; brother Arno "Mecki" Schumann; and the mother of his children, Janet Craig.
He is survived by his two daughters, Heidi West (Chris) and Lisa Kruse (Gary); two grandchildren, Brittany and Alex; one great granddaughter, Kennedy; sister, Gerda Heird; nephew, Bobby Schumann; ex-wife, Carolyn Schumann Lee, along with a host of other family and friends who all love him and will miss him dearly.
His celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home.
