Rex Maynard Starrett of Hensley, Arkansas was born July 17,1940 in Little Rock. He was the son of the late John and Pearl Starrett.  He died Wednesday, February 7, 2024, surrounded by family at the age of 83.

He was a beloved father, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend to many, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a Lt. detective out of San Dimas, California and retired in 1978.  He continued his detective career in Arkansas at Day Detective Agency until retiring. He was full to the brim with jokes and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnny Starrett; granddaughter, Michelle Pitts

Survivors: daughter, Chris (Brian) Miller; son, Steve (Jasmine) Starrett; son, Burt (Christi) Starrett; son, Dan Starrett; grandchildren: Matthew, Jill, Kasey, Christian, Auston, Juston, Elijah, Tadd, Haley, Hayden, Amberly; great grandchildren: Kaleb, Able, Abigail, Brantley, Lane, Hayeslee, Emberly, Waylyn

Family will have a graveside memorial at a later date.
