Obituary

Robert Junior Riddle, 75, of Mabelvale, AR died on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Little Rock. He was a member of Alexander First Baptist Church in Alexander, Arkansas. Mr. Riddle was a former Mason.

Robert was born Feb 18th, 1934, to Robert and Mabel Riddle of Stephens, Arkansas. He worked as a construction worker for many years. Although a hard worker, he loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. After he retired in 1982, he spent his time pursing his hobbies, which expanded to include collecting baseball cards and coins, and doing woodworking. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Shirley V. Hawkins Riddle, one brother James Riddle, and two sisters Ruby Riddle and Violet Smelser. He is survived by one son and three daughters and their spouses, Olive Yant and husband Rick of Greenbrier, Lorna King and husband Scott of Mabelvale, Kevin Riddle and wife Jennifer of Conway, and Ina Cobb and husband Wayne of Bryant; eight grandchildren; Shelley and Timothy Yant of Conway, Sarah and Jared King of Mabelvale, Jonathon, Katelin and Luke Riddle of Conway and Ileen Cobb of Bryant; seven siblings, Edward "Buddy" Riddle, Mary Louise Rush, Dorothy Smiley, Larry Riddle, Frank Riddle, Linda Leverrett and Rick Riddle and many nieces, nephews and other family who all loved him and will miss him dearly.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude and warmest thanks to his caregiver, Claudia Peel. Claudia served him for three years and her tireless care and devotion is greatly appreciated.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 on Monday, May 4, 2009 at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home 4212 Hwy 5 North, Bryant 501-847-9099. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pine Crest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Baptist Health Congestive Heart Failure Clinic at the Hickingbotham Outpatient Center 9500 Kanis Rd., Little Rock, AR 72205.
