Sammy Andrew Shock 68 of Bryant passed away on March 10, 2010. He was born on October 14, 1941, in Enola, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Lorene Shock of Enola and his brothers Bobby Shock and Jimmy Shock. Sam served his country in the army during the Vietnam War in the Intelligence Division in Germany. After the service he graduated from Capital City College and was employed by them for seven years. In 1980 he began working at Munro Shoe Company, as Account Manager for twenty six years until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed working with the wonderful people at Munro and truly missed them when he retired. Sam was a wonderful person with a quick sense of humor. He was an avid Razorback fan and the best arm-chair coach around. One of his greatest pleasures was time spent with his grandsons Dalton and Zayne. Sam leaves his wife Sandra of 33 years many happy memories to cherish. He is also survived by his son and wife Todd and Tammy Parker of Benton; his grandsons, Dalton Lee and Zayne Gray Parker of Benton; step-grandson and his wife Eric and Heather Slatton of Memphis; brother and his wife Ronnie and Barbara Shock of Greenbrier; sister, Mary Ann Shock of California; brothers-in-law, Jerry Parker and wife JoAnna of Mt. Ida and William Parker and wife Pat of Carlisle; mother-in-law, Odean Parker of Carlisle and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will all miss him dearly. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home 4212 Hwy 5 North, Bryant. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Carlisle Cemetery.
