Obituary

Samuel Ronald Johnson (Ron), 70, of Bryant passed away on August 24, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. Born September 4, 1942 in Rosebud, AR to the late, A.C. Johnson and Nellie Mae Edwards Johnson, with seven siblings, of whom Maxine Bostic, Ruby Horton and Melba Johnson precedes him in death, while Thelma Hare, Donald Johnson (twin), Elton "Eddie" Johnson and Brenda Rogers survives him. Ron was married to his loving wife for 53 years, Geneva Ann Taylor Johnson, who also survives him. As cherished patriarch of his family, he was loved and respected by his children; Terrie Lorenson and husband, Mike of Benton, Michael Johnson and wife Charlene of Bryant and Sheri Sulton and husband Darrin, of Malvern; grandchildren, Cameron Beckwith and wife Amy, Aaron Johnson and wife Megan, Halie Gossage and Luther, Breanna Sanders, Acee Johnson; great grandchildren, Brynn Beckwith, Alex Beckwith, Westin Johnson and a host of family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
Ron was a faithful Christian. He loved spending time with his family and friends as often as possible. Always on the move, he enjoyed restoring old cars and tractors, and collecting antiques. An avid lover of relics with a story, he often enjoyed sharing his own stories with anyone he encountered including family, friends or the unsuspecting stranger. Ron brought life to any situation and more often than not, left an experience that was worth sharing with others. His impact on people's lives was a testimony to the unwavering love he had for all, and will resonate in generations to come. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 2:00 at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant those attending are asked to share a fond memory. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Arkansas Heart Association or the Arkansas Children's Hospital.
