Skip Barnes 70 of Bryant passed away October 14, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born on March 6, 1945 to the late, Eddie and Flossie Barnes in Beebe, Arkansas. Skip was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he gave his life to his family. He loved hot rod cars, fishing and living for the moment. Skip had the ability to fix anything that he set his mind to. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Little Rock for 35 years. Skip lovingly taught Sunday school for special needs adults and had a bus route.
Skip is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Marie Barnes; brother, Jerry Wayne Barnes; sister, Patricia Ann Plummer; two great grandsons, Jacob Barnes and Dalton Rice.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Becky Barnes; two sons, Ronnie Barnes (Amy) and James Barnes (Mendy); six grandchildren, Kevin (Ashley), Crystal (Ben), Emily, Rebecca, Brayden and Nathan; one great grandson, Lucas; four sisters, Vickie, Billie Gayle, Nancy and Janette; sons at heart, James Maison (Katina), Terry Benson (Cotney), Pat Barry (Dona), Chris Sims (Karen) and Albert Yelich (Rachel) and a host of family and friends who all loved him and will miss him dearly.
