March 22, 1938 – August 1, 2024
Thomas Alton Bailey Sr. passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, in North Little Rock Arkansas. He was born on March 22nd, 1938, in Paris Arkansas to Dan and Hazel Bailey.
He married the love of his life, Deanna Cullens, in 1958. They were married for 38 years and had three children. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents: Daniel Astor Bailey and Hazel Childress Bailey, and his wife Deanna Bailey. He is survived by his children Cindy Dove of Bryant, Thomas Alton Bailey Jr of Vilona, and Jack Bailey of Hot Springs; Four brothers Bob Bailey (Louis) of Star City, AR; Don Bailey (Joyce) of Shreveport, LA; Johnny Bailey of Greers Ferry, AR; Gary Bailey (Debra) of Royal, AR; Two sisters Margaret Shults of Pine Bluff, AR and Alice Courtney (Harry) of Navarre, FL. He is also survived by his Grand Children Angela Dove, Jacob Dove (Erica), Marshal Bailey (Whitney), Christian Bailey, and Kaylynn Brunt, nine great grandchildren Kinsley Linebarger, Riley Dove, Malorie Patterson, Aleigha Patterson, Keelan Bailey, Jase Bailey, Kara Bailey, Jaxon Brunt, and Addison Brunt.
Thomas graduated from Watson High School in 1957. Following his graduation, he joined the Arkansas National Guard and was stationed at Central High during the integration of the Little Rock Nine. After his service at Central High, Thomas joined the US Army and was stationed in France. Thomas worked for and retired from Reynolds Metals as a warehouse manager, and Falcon Jet as the security manager. He was passionate about his work at Falcon Jet. Everyone that met him knew about his love for his family, especially his great grandchildren. He was an avid reader, comic book collector, and antiques lover.
The family would like to thank Jennifer Reichard and the entire staff at Lakewood Nursing and Rehab for the love and care he was shown.
There will be a memorial service held on Monday, August 5th, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home.
