Obituary
Tommy Nelson, age 88, of Benton, died July 17, 2009.
He was born January 9, 1921 in Benton to the late Jane Bradshaw and George Washington Nelson.
Tommy was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired farmer and loved the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish and had a great since of humor and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lola Nelson, son Louis Nelson and a granddaughter, Jennifer Nelson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Barbara (Eddie) Casteel of Benton, Sue Theel of Benton and Linda Clark also of Benton. He is also survived by his sons; George, David and John all of Benton, Bill (Judy) of Bloomington, Illinois and Richard (Debbie) of Hot Springs, along with 18 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Nelson will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday July 20, 2009 in the chapel of Dial & Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant (501) 847-9099, with Pastor David Harris officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bobby, Tommy and Doug Theel, Paul and Jeff York, David Nelson and Shawn Chapman. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris, Tim and Cory Nelson.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 on Sunday at the funeral home.
