Vercy M. Ward, a resident of Bryant Health Care Center, died May 22, 2009 at the age of 99. Born in McCool, Mississippi she was raised in Wheatley, Arkansas by her parents, George and Mattie McCool. She lived most of her adult life in Greenville, Mississippi where she was employed by J.C. Penny for 35 years before retiring in 1972. Widowed at a young age she raised two children, Myra Jean Pace and Lewis Charles Ward both of whom survive her.

In 2001 she moved to Bryant, Arkansas to live near her daughter and granddaughters. All her life she was a faithful Christian and member of the United Methodist Church. Vercy Ward was a source of joy to those that knew her. Funeral Arrangements are Pending. Interment will be in Greenville Mississippi.
