Virginia Sue Hartwick 76 of Little Rock went to be with her beloved husband, Jimmy Wayne Hartwick, Sr. at her home in Little Rock, surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 14, 2018. She was born on May 25, 1942 in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas to the late, Conley C. and Lorraine Sample James.
Virginia was owner and office manager of Ozark Acoustical Contractors, Inc. for 20 years in Little Rock Arkansas and co-owner and office manager of Burns Insulation and Siding for 20 years in Harrison Arkansas. Virginia was a member of CHI Sigma Sorority where she received Chi Sigma Appreciation Award as National Convention Planner which reads "Who gave so much heart, time, talent and love June 20 - 23, 2002 National Convention CHI SIGMA SORORITY "Remember When" Phi Chapter - We Love You." Virginia was a member of Western Hills Country Club where her husband, Jimmy Wayne Hartwick, Sr. was president. Virginia and her husband love to play golf. She helped plan several Razorback game parties, Hawaiian Luaus and costume parties. One of Virginia's sayings was "We had a Large Time". Her and her husband traveled with friends and family to many places in the States and abroad. Virginia had a passion for history, especially her French ancestry, and shared her love of history with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children, Gretchen Ann Hartwick Simmons "Keith" and Jimmy Hartwick, Jr. "Mandy Rouse Hartwick"; grandchildren, Troy Carpenter Jr. "Tiffany", Allyson Hartwick, Scout Simmons, Reese Carpenter and Tyler Hefley; siblings Larry James "Vickie", Vicky Houle, and Roger James; life-long best friends, Freda New and Margaret Jenkins.
Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Alzheimer's Association or your local humane society.
