Wanda was born in Cord, Arkansas, to the late Charles Melvin and Ruby Garner. She married the first love of her life, William "Charles" Jones, on June 5th, 1954. Wanda was a devoted homemaker and felt blessed to be able to stay home and raise her boys. She shared 32 fulfilling years of marriage with Charles until his passing on June 4th, 1986.

Wanda later married the second love of her life, James "Jim" Purscell, on October 21st, 1989. She cherished 33 loving years of marriage with Jim until his passing on March 8th, 2023.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Buddy Garner, Melvin Garner, Paul Garner, Thelma Louise Weed, and Athea Mae Owens; spouse, Charles Jones; and her sons, Ronnie and Tommy Jones; and spouse, James Purcell.

Wanda is survived by her sons, Bruce and Ricky (Sherry) Jones; grandchildren, Nikie Chance, Buddy Jones, Amanda Jones, Brandy Smith, Cristy (Jeremy) Estes, and Emily (Chris) Bailey; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Wanda was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church. Her funeral services will be provided by Dial and Dudley Funeral Home on November 24th at 11:00 a.m., located at 4212 AR-5, Bryant, Arkansas, 72022.
