William "Bill" Taylor of Benton, formerly of Conway, met his Lord May 5, 2018. Born April 8, 1930 to Reuben and Grace Taylor of Detroit, Michigan, he earned a BSIE degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
Bill served his country during the Korean conflict for four years, achieving the rank of Staff Sargent in the US Air Force. He was employed by TRW INC. of Portland, Michigan; FMC Corporation of Kokomo, Indiana and Conway Arkansas; and Orbit Value of Little Rock, Arkansas as a Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, and plant manager. He was a Registered Professional Engineer. He enjoyed sports of all kinds especially football and fast pitch, softball, coaching men and women's soft ball teams. Bill served as deacon, Sunday School Teacher and choir member at Conway's First Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Benton and Central Baptist Church of Conway. He was active in service organizations such as the Michigan Jaycees, Chambers of Commerce, American Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Community Chest, Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Gideon's.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Donna of sixty one years, three daughters; Wendy Shirar, Cheryl (Eddie) Holdman and Becky (Scott) Williams; six grandchildren, Josh, Conrad, Hollye, Lindsay, Sean, and Collin; brother, Ralph Taylor; adopted daughter, Cathy Anthony and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Central Baptist Church 3333 Dave Ward Drive, Conway, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Church Ministry Resources 510 Valley Drive, Attalla, Alabama, 35954, Saline Memorial Hospice or the Gideon's. The family will hold a private inurnment at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements provided by Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant.
