Xai Moua Thao of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on December 10th, 2023, at 94 years old. Xai Moua, the eldest of four children, was born on January 1st, 1929, to Cha Yang and Mee Thao in Laos. She married her husband Xai Lee Thao in late 1960 and together they raised their son Yongva Thao. In 1978, Xai Moua and her family crossed the Mekong River to Nam Kai, in the Nam Pat district of Uttaradit, Thailand. The family then went on to live in Ban Vinai, Thailand for another year before they relocated to the United States of America in 1980. Xai Moua and her family first came to the State of Iowa and lived there for three years before they settle in Wisconsin in 1983. While she lived in Wisconsin she worked full-time, gardened, and earned her associate degree in Tailoring and Couch Making. In the year 2000, Xai Moua and her family made a final moved to Hensley, Arkansas and made it their final home. For most of Xai Moua's life, she had lived a very self-sustained lifestyle. She was a person who loved to cultivate the land, raised small livestock, and shared her abundances. She was strong-willed and stubborn at times but had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Xai Moua is predeceased by her parents, two sisters, a brother, and her husband. She is survived by her son, Yongva Thao and his wife Chao Thao. She is also survived by six grandchildren and their spouses: Julie Thao (Bee Yang), Johnny Thao (Patty Xiong), Chiakee Thao (Kimberly Lor), Jon Thao (Jacob Galloway), Zang Thao (Jessica Her), and Sammi Thao. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren: Malachi Yang, Solomon Yang, Amira Thao, Caleb Thao, Alexander Thao, Logan Thao, Simon Thao, Aiden Thao, Gabriel Thao, Zoey Thao, Wyatt Xiong, Maximus Xiong, and Freya Xiong. Xai Moua will be remembered for all the life lessons she shared with her family, and she will be missed dearly. The family of Xai Moua Thao would like to express their gratitude for all the love and support during this difficult time.
