Michael Earl McCune, 69 of Bryant, passed from this life on March 19, 2016.
Mike was born on March 28, 1946 in Quincy, Illinois to his parents, Earl and Elizabeth McCune. Michael loved to garden, wood work and collecting beer cans. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He was a member of the VFW Post 2256 in Benton and the Albert Pike Mason Lodge in Little Rock.
Mike retired from the United States Navy in 1994.
He proudly served in the Vietnam War on the USS Halsey. He was an officer in the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corp for the past 15 years and retired from Lucent Technology in 2001.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael Earl McCune Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Becky McCune; two children, Steven McCune (Jennifer) and Melissa English (Brian); grandchildren, Jared, AnnaBeth, Jillian and Zachary; two sisters, Kathleen Boese and Patricia Campbell and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 6-8 PM. A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 25, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home in Bryant. Burial to follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to USNSCC in c/o Nathan Cook 2961 Hwy 167 North, Sheridan, AR 72150.
